I think about

all the things I could reach

before you

The many images that fill the field of Laurel Hauge's I think about / all the things I could reach / before you are screenshots taken from Google Earth of the ocean and seas between the East Coast of the US and Italy. The exhibition meditates on the feelings of displacement, separation, and uncertainty that Hauge experienced during the year and a half she lived in New York after moving away from Milan, Italy and her Italian partner. Throughout this period, the time difference and distance between them were ever-present, heavy-handed moderators that forced the couple’s relationship into a mold that neither of them intended for it.

You can view Hauge's virtual ceremony here, featuring Ruby Figueroa's reading of her piece "Montrose Beach."
